Frederick Douglass (1817-1895) Abolitionist and editor was the major Black leader of the 19th century and is often called "The Father of the Civil Rights Movement."
World history is people and how we interact with our environment. It's how people perceive their surroundings and what they make of it. The reason we study world history is to better our understanding of the choices people have made through-out history. The paths people undertake, whether it leads to success or failure, betters our world or time today. Basically, we just learn from past mistakes and see why or what caused it so we don't end up with the same fate. It all just makes you appreciate the role we all play in history today.
